Scale up HACCP and FDA training and certification for agri-food businesses. The project had been supporting companies individually providing for much of the training costs.

We estimated that around 100 Food Safety Consultants operate in this market. If we could onboard 50 of them and they could reach out 30 prospects with a new ‘food safety factory entryproduct’ we could help them generate an overall 1,500 leads.

With a conservative conversion rate of 20% consultants could get 300 companies signing up to this new service that would then lead to the actual training and advisory by the Consultants in the factories. If the uptake was 20% that would generate food safety certification program for 60 companies.

FDA or HACCP certification would open up new markets. If we assumed new markets would require additional purchase from 50 farmers in average this intervention generates additional income for 3,000 farmers.

We turned down a business grant request for a $55k capex investment in a new green packaging facility. It appeared that through productivity improvement to their existing facility and some changes to their business model the company could achieve higher revenue and be more inclusive with a 5k opex investment per year.

A project had done an analysis of the constraints in the apricot market systems in Central Asia and identified nine main constraints in the sector.

A client was trying to fix a gap for Outcome 4 technical lead role but there was a need for building up the capacity of internal potential candidates especially around Market System thinking, strategic thinking and program design development as well as interpersonal skills.
