YTCP Impact Fund partnered with Asper Consulting and looked for investment partners in order to build a prototype offshore and onshore seaweed farm in Indonesia. The prototype provides a model that can be rolled out on a global scale. The expansion can be implemented in territorial or international waters. The business model is targeting customers.

The business model aimed to generate revenue from (i) customers looking for scientific evidence-based solutions to net-off their carbon emissions, or become carbon positive; and (ii) buyers of pharmaceutical grade seaweed produce and producers of nutraceuticals.

This venture addresses the growing demand for carbon sequestration globally and the climate imperative to shift towards a carbon neutral economy. The prototype creates scientific and commercial evidence and standards on carbon sequestration rates for the production of nutraceutical and where relevant pharmaceutical grade seaweed produce through the creation of a biomimetic on-shore and off-shore seaweed farming, post-harvest and processing system.
